Look Less Tired With the Liquid Brow Lift

Author: 8 January 2017 No Comment

(Liquid Brow Lift) Full and arched eyebrows are classic signs of a youthful face.  Our eyebrows complement and enhance our eyes.  As we age our eyebrows move downward and make us look tired.   So what causes the droopy eyebrows?  As we age our skin doesn’t just wrinkle. The tissues beneath the skin lose volume causing the skin to sag and fold. Gravity pulls the facial skin down as we age, and the brow fat pad diminishes in size and slides downward.  The effect is a droopy eyebrow.

Many men and women who think they may need a surgical brow lift are thrilled to find an alternative treatment called a Liquid Brow Lift. Subtle droopiness of the eyebrow leading to sagging of the upper lid can be an indication for the Liquid Brow Lift which is a non-surgical treatment accomplished using Botox® and/or Juvederm®.  A Liquid Brow Lift can take less than an hour, and you’ll be back on the social scene the same day.

Botox® injections can help smooth the lines and wrinkles across the forehead and elevate the brow.  The location of the eyebrows on your face is related to the function of the muscles above the brow contracting and raising the brow and the muscles below the brow contracting and lowering the brow.  Dr. Baltazar will discuss with you what type of brow position you would prefer and inject the Botox® accordingly in order to obtain the optimal results.  Usually, the treatment takes about 15 minutes.  Discomfort during the treatment is minimal, since the needles are so small.  Treatment results are seen after a few days to up to a week.

There is some confusion about Botox® treatments. So here are a few facts:

Botox® should not last just a few weeks.  Botox® comes in powder form that is reconstituted to a solution for injection.  The mixing procedure is key. The more dilute the solution, the less Botox® there is available in the treatment dose. Botox® is charged either per unit or per area. If something sounds too good to be true, then maybe it is.  Next time you ask for Botox® treatment, ask yourself whether you are asking for Botox® or for water with a splash of Botox® in it.

Botox ®treatment does not have to leave you without facial expressions.  It can give you a refreshed and well-rested appearance.  There is a harmonious balance between the muscles of the face.  By injecting therapeutic doses into specific muscles, one can have a natural softening of unwanted lines and wrinkles without compromising facial expressions.

If a little more lift is desired, combination therapy of Botox® and a dermal filler such as Juvederm® is utilized.  Juvederm® consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body.  Brow lift with Juvederm® is accomplished by injecting the filler along the brow bone.  This helps add fullness and shapes the brow.  This can give you a few millimeters of lift and sometimes this is all that is required.

“Over time I noticed my brows looking more droopy.  People would ask me if I was tired even though I wasn’t tired at all.  I considered surgery, but I did not want to go through the downtime.  I went to Dr. Baltazar to help me look more refreshed. I had a liquid brow lift using Botox® and Juvederm®.  I was really happy with my results. The results were subtle which is exactly what I was looking for” – AL

Unlike a surgical brow lift, the non-surgical Liquid Brow Lift with Botox® and Juvederm® treatments does not require general anesthesia.  With Juvederm® treatment, a topical numbing cream is utilized, which allows you to see the results at intervals during the procedure and provide feedback.  Both treatments have minimal discomfort.  You can add back the volume that you’ve lost during your lunch hour!  The saves you time and money with optimal results, and thereby making it the natural choice for anyone on a budget.
