Summer 2010 Trend Forecast

Author: Donna Henson 15 June 2010 No Comment

Looking for a new wardrobe but can’t afford it in this economy? How about just updating the old with a new necklace or bracelet? A new trendy piece of jewelry can change the look of an outfit for a fraction of the cost.

Everything from geometric shapes in shiny metals to animal prints and textures can update that outdated wardrobe. Whether you want vintage inspired styles or trendy enameled jewelry, statements pieces are an easy, inexpensive way to update your look without investing a lot out of pocket.

Natural stones and candy colors will be the “in” trend this summer. Whether it is hot spicy pink crystals, teal hues of abalone shell or key-lime green, these latest colors can add a fun whimsical look to your wardrobe. But let’s not forget about the earthy tones of tiger’s eye and mother of pearl as well – these too will make a statement for the summer.

Create multiple looks by combining necklaces and chains or wear a longer necklace as a unique belt. Draw attention to your face and not your hips with medallions, slides and larger pendants and don’t be afraid to wear more than one bracelet on one hand – the layered look is definitely in.

Gold jewelry has also made a comeback this season – mix and match with your silver pieces as well. The warm glow of the gold texture will add shimmer to any wardrobe.

Last but not least, don’t be afraid to add glitz and glamour to your jeans and office attire. Glitz is in this summer and it isn’t just for the cocktail hour.
